This afternoon we saw players competing in the Semi Finals ahead of this early evening Finals of the World Cup of Pool which is being hosted in Milton Keynes .
Players are competing with a target to secure the 9 frames needed to earn their place in the finals which took place at 5.30 pm
Here is an overview which countries will be competing in the Semi-Finals match’s
Great Britain C group won an outstanding 9 – 0 frames over Slovakia who sadly didn’t manage to secure a single frame during the match. All that can be said is what a phenomenal match , Darren Appleton and Karl Boyles were unstoppable and had control over the table for almost the entire match . This is only the Second time in the Semi-finals of World Cup History to have been achieved. This was so much more astounding as Appleton and Boyles were actually late entries to the tournament.
Germany Joshua Filler & Christoph Reintjes had to bring everything they had to the table today as Estonia were not going to make this an easy win . They continued to deliver a great performance with Estonia proving world class opponents but not enough as Germany had a 2 frame clearance over Estonia with their 9 – 7 win.
Well the Finals of the World Cup Pool sees Great Britain facing Germany . The Tournament started out with 32 countries competing and now the final two meet looking to secure the valuable 11 frames needed. We expected nothing less then edge of our seats play which is exactly what was delivered .With the $60,000 winning team prize the pressure was always going to be on.
Within the first 30 minutes of play Germany and Great Britain were 2 frames all then we saw Germany take the next 3 consecutive frames which saw the scores go to 5-2 Germany . The next 3 frame then went to Great Britain making it 5 all . What we then saw was nothing more than spectacular with Germany securing 6 frames to make it 11-6 over Great Britain. Great Britain delivered an exceptional performance and walk away with $30,000. We see Germany Joshua Filler & Christoph Reintjes not only lift the 2021 World Cup Pool Trophy but win the $60,000 prize.
