Trump gains slight advantage

Judd Trump won the second session 5-3 to lead 9-7 in this enthralling semifinal. Massive underdog Gary Wilson has battled so well in this match but Trump went into overdrive this afternoon firing in breaks of 50,56,73,75 and 123 to gain the upperhand with all to play for tomorrow. Snookerfans.co.uk spoke to Gary Wilson after this afternoon’s session and he said “I felt really tired today but just tried to hang in there and it was massive me winning that last frame”. The pressure is definitely on Judd as the favourite and Gary will come out firing tomorrow with nothing to lose and it promises to be a gripping finish.

David Gilbert is just 4 frames away from realising a childhood dream of playing in a world championship final. Gilbert leads 4 times world champion John Higgins 13-11 after another drama filled session. The highlight of this fabulous 3rd session was John Higgins’s sublime break of 143 which is the tournament’s highest so far. It seems that everytime Higgins gets close to Gilbert he pulls out yet another great break to pull away. Tomorrow’s final session will be one not to be missed.
