The tour championship finals have brought together the real cream of this season and with the longer format there has been so many twists and turns its provided excellent viewing for us snooker fans.
Niel Robertson battled back from 6-2 down to win 9-8 in an absolute thriller against the World number one Mark Selby. Selby led 6-2 after the first session but Robertson roared back in the evening with a string of notable contributions to lead 7-6 at the mid-session interval. After the break with an 8-6 lead at his mercy Selby managed to get the 3 snookers needed to pinch frame 14 and level the match at 7-7. The next two frames were shared but it was the Reigning Welsh Open champion Robertson who held hos nerve in a 45 minute deciding frame to clinch victory on the final black.
Ronnie O’Sullivan powered to a 9-3 victory over Stuart Bingham in the first round of the Coral Tour championship. The damage for Bingham was done in the first session as the Rocket strolled into a 6-2 lead aided by 3 excellent century breaks. The evening session was wrapped up fairly quickly with a session to spare and now Ronnie Will face Judd Trump for a place in the final.
Mark Allen continued his excellent for with a nervy 9-7 victory over Kyren Wilson. Allen who led 6-2 had to fight off an inspired Wilson who roared back with a string of breaks to get within one frame of Allen at 8-7. Frame 16 was a classic with Wilson making an excellent break of 58 to look like leveling the match but Allen potted an excellent red to the right middle pocket and cleared up with an amazing break of 71 to clinch victory.
Judd Trump battled back from 8-5 down against the Reigning World Champion Mark Williams to claim a stunning 9-8 Victory with a nerveless final clearance to the pink.
