THE BRITISH OPEN FINAL – MARK WILLIAMS IS CROWNED THE 2021 CHAMPION

After 17 years in the making we have seen the return of the British Open in the Morningside Arena in Leicester.

Huge congratulations to Mark Williams who held his nerve and played with unbelievable skill and determination to secure the British Open title win again. The last time Mark Williams competed and won at The British Open was in 1997 when he beat Stephen Hendry 9-2. So here we are 24 years later and Williams achieves his dream again by lifting the Trophy plus the winners cheque for £100.000

Gary Wilson put on a sterling performance as it was such a close run final. Wilson made it to the final which is outstanding news and ends a streak of three consecutive semi-final defeats, at the 2018 Welsh Open, 2019 World Championship and the 2020 European Masters. Wilson has been so determined that there is no doubt of his phenomenal skill and he receives the runner up cheque being £45,000.
