Today was the Finals of the Welsh open at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport Wales where we saw Judd Trump compete against Joe Perry in the best of 17 frames and a cheque for £70,000 for the winner .

Play started at 1pm and at Half time we saw both players at 4 all.

This evenings match commenced at 7 pm where both players delivered a phenomenal performance with a very close run match . We witnessed Perry who dug deep and delivered a sterling performance securing the 4 vital frames needed to win 9-5 over Trump tonight .

This was the 2nd Professional Ranking event that Perry has won , the last one was back in 2015 being the Players Touring Championship Finals beating Mark Williams 4-3 .

We see the world top player return to the table tomorrow at the First ever Nirvana Turkish Masters in Antalyan Turkey which not only secures a New Champion but a winners cheque for £100,000
