Today we saw the Chinese 21 year old player Fan Zhengyi reach his first ever Professional Ranking Final Event and is currently ranked number 80 in the World and Is competing against the World number 2 Ronnie O’Sullivan in Milton Keynes .
During the Snooker season Zhengyi is based out of the Victoria Club in Sheffield.
O’Sullivan had received the highest break of the Tournament with his 141 against Ashley Hugill. In 2019, he became the first and only player to attain 1,000 career century breaks, and has since extended his record to over 1,100 centuries
Todays finals was the best of 19 frames and at half time it was 4 frames all between Zhengyi & O’Sullivan .
After the break we saw both players return and fully energised with Zhengyi securing the next 2 frames making it 6-4 then O’Sullivan clawed It back making it 6 -6 , then it went 8-6 to Zhengyi. Then a few tense frames making it 8 all.
Then Zhengyi secured frame 9 before it came down to the last frames which O’Sullivan matched . The final frame went to Zhengyi winning 10-9 and not only lifting a trophy as well as a cheque for £80.000.
