The york Barbican in York, England welcomes the .CAZOO  2022 UK Championship that is taking place from 12 to 20 November 2022 . This is the fifth ranking event and the first Triple Crown event of the 2022–23 snooker season.

The winner will receive £250,000 from a total prize fund of £1,205,000.

Sadly we saw the defending champion Zhao Xintong, who defeated Luca Brecel 10–5 in the final of the 2021 event. Zhao lost 2–6 in the first round to Sam Craigie on day one of the tournament.

There is a a revised format for the 2022 event, with the top 16 players in the snooker world rankings were seeded through to the last-32 stage, where they were joined by another 16 qualifiers from a 128-player qualifying tournament which took place from 5 to 10 November at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. This year we see Jimmy White became the oldest player to qualify for the tournament’s final stages since Eddie Charlton who was 63 years old back in 1993. Sadly today was not in Jimmy Whites favour losing 2- 6 to Ryan Day in the afternoons match.
