Day Eight  – Round 2 we see the next 10 players looking to compete today to enable them to have an opportunity to secure their place in the Quarter Finals .There is only six places left at the Quarter final so players with be bringing their top game to ensure they secure their spot .

In Round 2 Players are competing in the best of 25 frames plus at the top of the centuries leader board Is Shaun Murphy with his 144 score .

Here is the update on players competing in Round 2 matches today.

During this morning matches we saw In Neil Robertson starting in a strong position with his 9-7 lead against Lisowski this continued with Roberston’s outstanding performance securing the 4 additional frames needed to give him 13-9  over Lisowski which guaranteed his place in the Quarter finals.

Also this morning we saw John Higgins compete against Mark Williams . Williams had a 5-3 lead at the start of play which increased to 10-6 over Higgins at this mornings play.  By the end of this evenings matches Williams taking 13-7 over Higgins to ensure his place at the Quarter final table.

In this afternoons matches saw Mark Allen versus Mark Selby which saw Selby leading the way with his 6-2 frames in place . They meet again tomorrow at 2.30 pm where the pressure will continue as there is only 4 spots left at the Quarter final.

The second of this afternoons matches we saw Kyren Wilson who was determined to continue his lead over Barry Hawkins which at the start of play he was already 2 frames ahead being 9-7 over Hawkins. This continued in this afternoons play seeing Wilson keeping up the pressure and securing the last 4 frames he needed winning 13-10 over Hawkins to get his place at the Quarter final.

During this evening play we saw John Murphy playing against Yan Bingtao. Both Players were looking to make their mark with trying to secure the lead  . Murphy leads after this evenings play 3-1 over Bingtao. We see them both meet tomorrow at 2.30pm to gain the valuable frames needed to get the final few places at the Quarter final .
