Judd Trump was “pleased to win a tournament so close to home” as he beat Ali Carter 10-6 to become the newly crowned Coral World Grand Prix champion at the magnificent centaur arena Cheltenham.
Trump, who has now won this event twice, hit two century breaks and a string of notable contributions as powered to victory in style.
Carter showed signs of a comeback, as he battled back from 5-2 down to 7-6. But at 7-6, the recently crowned Masters champion put the gas down and was clinical with every chance he was given. This tournament win adds to Trump’s succession of good results as he’s on course for his best ever season having already elapsed the £500,000 mark in prize money.
Here’s what Judd had to say to howeveryoulikebreak.com reporter Curtis Braithwaite about his triumph in the coral world grand prix final.
