The first Challenge Tour of the season takes place this weekend in Nuremberg Germany.
It brings a mixture of players from former tour pros to young up and coming stars of the future all competing for the first prize of £2000.
The game needs strong competition at every level in order to continue the impressive growth snooker has enjoyed over the previous 5 years. Hopefully the tour can attract some sponsorship and see the prize money increase as everyone competing will incur expensive travel costs to pursue the snooker dream.
The pick of the first round matches is Ian Preece v Paul Davison a match that hosts two former pros.
Good luck to everyone involved.
