BETVICTOR SCOTTISH OPEN 2021- QUARTER FINAL REVIEW

Ronnie O’Sullivan squeezed past the excellent Li Hang by a 5-4 scoreline to set up a potential mouthwatering showdown against his long time rival John Higgins. Hang pushed O’Sullivan all the way but he has come through 3 deciders this week and looks in determined mood. O’Sullivan fires in breaks of 50,56,60,80 and 83 and looked in smooth break building form.

Anthony McGill won the battle of Scotland against his practice partner and close friend Stephen Maguire by a 5-3 scoreline. McGill raced into a commanding 4-0 lead only for Maguire to win the next 3 frames after the interval to cut the deficit to 4-3 but it was McGill who held his nerve in frame 8 to win with breaks of 52 and 51 to wrap up victory.

John Higgins battled back from 3-0 down to claim a showdown with his long time rival Ronnie O’Sullivan in the semi finals of the Scottish open. Gilbert raced into a 3-0 lead aided by breaks of 77 and 130 but Higgins hit back with breaks of 52,139 and 55 to roar to victory.

Luca Brecel’s excellent form continued with a 5-4 victory over the always tough to beat Matthew Selt. In a match that swung both ways with each player looking like they would win it was Brecel who held his nerve with a break of 57 in the deciding frame to claim victory.
