Rory Mcleod booked his spot in round 3 with a nervy 4-3 victory over Hong Kong’s Ka Wai Cheung. With the first 6 frames being shared Mcleod took on a dangerous long red in the decider and made an excellent break of 51 to claim victory. 

Mcleod spoke to howeveryoulikebreak.com reporter Curtis Braithwaite and said ” Man I’m just trying so hard out there and it’s really difficult to focus with everyone moving around in the stands, The tables are also playing so heavy which is making break building very difficult so i know I’ve just got to dig in”.

Jamie O’Neil continues to impress here in Wigan with an excellent 4-3 win over his old friend Kuldesh Johal, This match always promised to go close but it was the former European under 19’s champion O’Neill who held his nerve to clear the colours and win a tense decider.

Former English open semi finalists Alexander Ursenbacher looked in good touch today as he claimed a 4-2 victory of Farakh Ajaib. Ursenbacher is definitely one of the favourites to regain his tour card and will take some stopping here in Wigan.

Lee Richardson rolled back the years with an excellent performance in his 4-2 victory over former tour player Steven Hallworth. Richardson was in a jubilant mood after the match and spoke to howeveryoulikebreak.com Reporter Curtis Braithwaite ” It was a bit of a struggle and i was shaking like a leaf out there but I’m so happy to get through, I came down here just to enjoy it but when you win a few games you start thinking it could be your week so I’ll be digging in and twitching like everyone else tomorrow”.
