Shaun Murphy arrived at the Crucible with his confidence at an all time low as other than a run to the Scottish open final its been a very poor Season for the firmer World champion, However a confidence building 10-0 victory over Chinese prodigy Luo Honghao in the first round has put a spring in his step and he is hoping to build on that performance and make a push for a second World title.
Murphy caught up with howeveryoulikebreak.com reporter Emma Maflin and said ” I’m absolutely delighted to get my Crucible campaign off to the perfect start, I scored heavily and punished every mistake he made and felt back to my old self”.
It’s great to see Shaun playing well again, And with his new found confidence he could be a very live contender to go deep in this tournament, It just remains to be seen if he can produce the same level of performance against the outstanding and in form Neil Robertson.
Robertson has been in unbelievably good form featuring in the last 4 ranking tournament finals so an explosive encounter is on the cards for sure in the last 16.
