Day One of the Betvictor Welsh Open at Celtic Manor Resort

Today we have seen the first 64 players competing in the fourth and final Home Nations event of the season, and the fifth of six events in the BetVictor European Series.

Players compete in the best of 7 frames and the reigning 2020 Champion Shaun Murphy won his match against Zak Surety with his 4 -1 win  which then sees him moving forward to the next round

We also saw the World number one Judd Trump beat China’s Zhao Jianbo in a 4-2 win in today’s match .

Top of the Century leader board is Zhao Xintong with his 143 against Luca Brecel today.

Tomorrow we will also see World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan compete against Robbie Williams and the 2021 BetVictor Shoot Out champion Ryan Day will be up against Ian Burns.
